Nick is an experienced entrepreneur, innovator and strategist with broad experience working in culturally diverse markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Australia, the UK and the US. His functional skills are wide-ranging covering information systems, finance, operations, audit, product development and business management.
Nick was formerly the Group Head of Chip Card & E-Commerce, Consumer Banking Group, Standard Chartered Bank where he implemented Asia's then largest portfolio of smartcard-based credit card loyalty programmes spanning Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. He was responsible for being the first to introduce to the world several innovative applications and services including Visa's Open Platform Java Card. Previous positions include Head of Finance & Planning, Consumer Banking Group, Standard Chartered Bank; Vice President & Regional Operations Director at Citibank where he managed the regional operations of payment products services in 10 countries across Asia Pacific; and Vice President & Head of Operations, First National Bank of Chicago for South East Asia. Nick started his career as an auditor and a computer audit specialist with Peat Marwick (now KPMG) in Hong Kong and London. Nick is the co-inventor of 40+ patents granted in 15 countries.
Sang has more than 30 years of experience in implementing payment transaction processing and loyalty marketing systems. His experience covers all aspects of payment systems, from traditional magnetic stripe systems through to the leading-edge smartcard-based and smart token-based systems, including secure web-based payment systems. As CTO of OneEmpower, Sang has spent the last 16 years building and implementing rule-based data-driven loyalty marketing solutions at a wide range of blue chip clients from multinational financial institutions to telcos, retailers and coalition loyalty programme operators across the Asia-Pacific region.
Previous positions include serving as General Manager, Operations, of Network for Electronic Transfers (Singapore) Pte Ltd (NETS). He was the chief architect behind the launch of the CashCard electronic purse service in Singapore and its world renowned successful integration with the electronic road pricing system. Between 1998 and 2001, Sang served as the Chairman of the Smart Card Technical Committee, the standards committee formed by the National IT Standards Committee with the objective of developing smart card related standards for Singapore. Sang is the co-inventor of 40+ patents granted in 15 countries.
